NINA SALTMAN

Nina Saltman has loved clay and ceramics since she was a child. She started working on her own pots as an adult in 1991 at The Clay Studio in San Francisco. While working full time as a tradeswoman construction carpenter, superintendent, and later as a project manager/construction manager, her ceramics work became more and more important to her. As she became more serious about her artistic endeavors, in addition to classes at The Clay Studio, she took workshops with several different professional ceramicists. Most recently her workshops with Ellen Shankin have influenced her work enormously. Having retired from full time work, she now has time to pursue her love of ceramics full time, and is passing on her knowledge to others by teaching classes at sfclayworks.  Nina also loves to garden, bike, hike, travel and cook in addition to her pottery.  Nina is a founding member of sfclayworks.
