“Variety is the Spice of Life”: Student and Community Exhibition @sfclayworks

It's that time of year again in the studio at sfclayworks when we get busy with some of our annual events. On Friday, October 7, 2016, we will once again be featuring our amazing students and community members during our 4th Annual Student and Community Exhibition. This years theme, "Variety is the Spice of Life",  is very broad so you should expect to see a good "variety" of work. Our studio members always manage to turn out some pretty amazing pieces, which we are very excited about. The exhibit is open to all sfclayworks members. The exhibition offers studio members an opportunity to very work hard at putting together something special. We can't wait to see what the community has in store for the show. Please join our Students and Community [...]

New Work by Jee Wipperfurth @ sfclayworks

August 18-September 4, 2016 sfclayworks | 2240 Palou Ave | San Francisco | CA | 94124    Opening Reception: Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 2pm-4pm Jee's work will be available for sale during the exhibition!     sfclayworks is excited to announce a new exhibit in the gallery, featuring one of sfclayworks awesome community members, Jee Wipperfurth. Jee has had her fingers in clay at sfclayworks since we opened in 2011; though if her memory serves her right, she has been working on and off in clay since early 2001. Outside of her busy day to day responsibilities, Jee finds time to slip into the studio and get lost in her meticulously carved porcelain pieces. Sometimes when we look at our own work change is hard to see, [...]

Seasoned Living: Ceramic Works of Marcia Rosser

It is 2016 and already five years since we all took the plunge to create sfclayworks. It has always been a desire of ours to have an active gallery space in the front of the studio. We are pleased to announce that besides our Annual Student and Community show, our SF Open Studio Show, and our yearly guest artist show, we are finally making that happen. When we started tossing around the idea for our new plan, we had the difficult task of figuring out who we wanted to showcase during our first display. We quickly decided that long time studio member, Marcia Rosser, would be a fantastic selection. Throughout the years we have watched Marcia move from making pottery predominately thrown on the wheel, to her fantastical salt [...]

Around the Table: 2nd Annual Ceramics Exhibition
